El Bigotes (Mustaches)

On Friday, in my Spanish class, my teacher showed us this video.  Normally, I find mustaches quite disgusting. However, I just find this video really funny and quite enjoy it.

The World is Flat

I am taking an information systems class this semester in school and we got given an assignment yesterday that I was not really looking forward to because of the length. We were told to watch this video(http://mitworld.mit.edu/video/266/), which happened to be 1.25 hours long, and then take a quiz. That is a long video to watch just to take a quiz!

Thankfully, the video actually turned out to be quite interesting. Or at least, I thought so. It is this guy, Thomas L. Friedman, who talks about his book, "The World is Flat" and then answers some questions afterwards. Throughout the lecture, he talks about the first three chapters of his book. And it kind of intrigued me.

A couple of things that were said really stuck out to me. When he was in India, one of his friends said to him, "The global economic field is being leveled and you, Americans, are not ready." The second thing is that his parents used to tell him (just like the rest of our parents) "finish all your food because there are people starving in Africa." However, that is not what stuck out to me. It is what he tells his kids. He tells them, "Finish your homework, because people in China and India are starving for your jobs. And in a flat world, they can have them. because there is no such thing as an American job anymore."

For me, it was interesting and it kind of makes you think.
